Make Valentine’s Day Candy Hearts
This Valentine’s Day Activity is easy, perfect for kids, and delicious! Making Valentine’s Day candy hearts doesn’t mean you have to make them from scratch, you can make candy hearts out of pretty much any hard candy! All you need are a few supplies, a little creativity, and a sweet tooth. All you need for this is your favorite hard candy (we like to use cherry Jolly Ranchers), and a silicone mold (we like this one from amazon). These DIY heart-shaped candies make the perfect gift and are a fun way to introduce cooking to your little chef! We love this tutorial, but we provided step-by-step instructions for you below!
How to Make Valentine’s Day Heart Shaped Candy for Kids
- Simply pre-heat your oven to 300 degrees.
- Place the unwrapped hard candy into your silicone mold.
- Bake until the candy is completely melted (about 13 to 15 minutes)
- Remove from oven and leave silicone mold on a cookie sheet and allow them to cool completely.
- Pop-out the candy and enjoy!

Valentine’s Day Slime
As a parent we’re sure you’ve already dipped your toe into making slime, but have you ever made Valentine’s Day Slime? This gooey (and surprisingly mess-free) craft is so much fun to make and can entertain your kids for hours. Plus, you can reuse the recipe and spice it up for just about any holiday you can think of! This slime is so easy to make and is a perfect party favor or party project. All you need to make this slime is some Clear Elmer’s Glue, Borax Powder, Heart Confetti Glitter, Pink, Purple, or Red Glitter, and some Water.
How To Make Valentine’s Day Slime for Kids
- Start with two bowls
- In one bowl add 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 cup of clear glue, mix it well then stir in the fine glitter and glitter confetti.
- In another bowl, add 1/2 cup of water and 1/2 teaspoon of Borax to the other bowl and mix together
- Slowly stir the Borax mixture into the bowl with the glittered glue. It will start to “goopify” immediately. Mix until all the liquid is dissolved.
